I wrote in my earlier post that I visited my family in California and shared pictures from the trip. One of my highlights was seeing my previous home and Mom and Dad’s garden, especially because the garden is the greenest I have seen it in a long time. Mom and Dad have some nice features in their back yard that I grew up with and would like to share.
Dad’s wheel barrow planter:
The thought process was so organic to me because Dad reused something that he, otherwise, would have thrown out. His wheel barrow was unusable with a broken wheel. To make a planter, Dad:
1. drilled drainage holes through the bottom of the barrow,
– If you are putting holes in a metal wheel barrow, use precaution and proper methods when drilling.
2. filled the barrow with potting soil,
3. and planted flowers that hang over the side of the planter.
